Day 1Arrival in Hanoi, Hanoi Vespa by night food tour (N)

Day 2 Flight from Hanoi to Dong Hoi, Explore Phong Nha Cave by boat

After lunch in the town of Dong Hoi, continue to the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, recognized by UNESCO in 2003 as a World Natural Heritage Site for its system of unique water grottoes as well as abundant wildlife and plants, many of which are native to this region. Board a local boat and start cruising along the Son River to Phong Nha Cave, noted for its depth and surreal scenery the further you go into the cave. After 700m (2,297ft), a large dry passage way becomes visible and visitors can disembark and walk an additional 500m (1,640ft) into the cave. Notice the remnants of Cham altars and inscriptions found at the end. Transfer to hotel for the night.

Day 3Discover Paradise cave and Dark cave

Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003, the remarkable Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park contains the oldest karst mountains in Asia, formed approximately 400 million years ago. Phong Nha is still new to tourism, so the natural beauty still remains. Mountains, lakes, caves, jungles, extremely exotic and endemic wildlife. This place has it all.

Paradise Cave: 70 km northwest of Dong Hoi city. It’s a dry cave and is called the “underground palace”. Paradise cave had been considered the longest dry cave in Asia. It is one of the most magnificent and magical wonders in the world. This cave is 31 km long. Paradise cave celestial splendour between mundane title.

Dark Cave: Exploring Dark cave is really an amazing experience. We will kayak along Chay river, walk through the dark with just head torches and plunge into a narrow cavern full of thick, wonderfully gloppy, gooey mud. You will be surprised of the beauty hidden in the dark. Inside Dark cave, you will have the opportunity to have a natural mud bath and swim in the cool lake. Besides, you can join in many activities such as swimming, zip line, high-wire, and kayaking. The cave is a unique experience in comparison with the other caves. Lots of adventurous activities are waiting for you.

This morning, we will drive to Vinh Moc Tunnel approximately 2.5 hours away. Our tour guide will recommend stops along the way to see a small church showing the signs of mortar attack in the area and visit former US Bases. You will go through the DMZ, where some of the bloodiest battles were fought during the American War, you will walk cross the Ben Hai River on Hien Luong Bridge that used to demarcate the division between North and South Vietnam (1954-1975).

Then, visit the museums
 containing photographs and memorials of the war before taking a fascinating tour of the Vinh Moc Tunnels. Your guide will take you into the tunnels and explore the complex; you will walk past huge bomb craters, amazing fighting trench and even venture into the tunnels and explore the tiny living rooms, food and weapon storages and school that villagers would have survived on.

After the tunnels, you will be transported to Cua Tung beach; you can have some time to swim and relax. Mid-afternoon driving all the way back to Hue. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5Hue Sightseeing Full Day - Join in tour

After breakfast, meet your tour guide and driver in the lobby. Drive to visit the busy Dong Ba market where you’ll find everything from clothes to local food specialties. Then take a boat trip to the peaceful Thien Mu pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hue, to enjoy a moment of serenity. Continue on to the Imperial Citadel, home of Vietnam’s last royal dynasty, the Nguyen Dynasty, from 1802 – 1945. Afterward, visit Hue Royal Antiques Museum, a rich collection of artifacts from the Nguyen dynasty, before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit a local village to see how Hue people make incense sticks and listen to the story of this cultural staple that is so indispensable to the Vietnamese. Then, transfer to The Nguyen Emperor Khai Dinh’s Royal Tomb, a unique tomb among the royal tombs in Hue. Where other royal tombs are expansive and invite respectful reflection, Khai Dinh built his final resting place to be monumental in style and bombastic in execution. Then, visit Minh Mang tomb, with its Chinese architecture, monuments, statues, and gardens, accessed via a bridge over a lake of lotus flowers.

End your day with a visit to a local conical hat village to watch how these iconic Vietnamese sunshades are still made in the traditional way today. You’ll return to your hotel and have dinner on your own.

Day 6Kite Making Lesson

The imperial city of Hue is known for its beautiful kites, so why not spend your morning getting to know more about this traditional craft? Today’s tour will begin at 08:30 and we will learn about Hue’s rich culture and heritage from a local artisan.

This morning, we cycle 3 miles to meet your instructor, a local kite lover, who is also a third-generation kite maker in Hue. To begin the day you’ll take a tour of his house and listen to the history of kite flying in Vietnam, a form of once entertainment favoured by the aristocracy and mandarins of the Nguyen Dynasty. Then step into his workshop where he uses the traditional methods to make his one–of–a–kind kites, and then you’ll get a chance to try painting your own. Kite painting requires a delicate hand, but with your instructor who will guide you, you will produce a masterpiece.

Wrap up this kite making Hue experience with a truly unique handmade souvenir – a reminder of Hue’s rich artistic heritage. Once you are finished learning about the local arts stop for a short break at a local cafe for a cup of delicious Vietnamese coffee before returning to your hotel by bicycle.

Hue is famous as one of the country’s best places for foodies, so make sure to sample some of the local specialties such as bun bo Huế (beef noodle soup), lemongrass skewers, and banh khoai (crispy pancake).

Do I need to make a deposit? What is the payment process for my booking?

You will be required to pay a deposit when booking with Responsible Asia. The deposit will be 10% of the full payment. All deposits are non-refundable. Final payment is required no later than 30 days prior to departure unless otherwise stated. Some airfares or services must be paid in full at the time of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

We would deeply regret your decision to cancel your trip to Vietnam and Indochina; however, we realize that there are many reasons for this event.
In the event of cancellation, we will refund any payment made to Responsible Asia Asia given that a cancellation fee is applicable.
The cancellation fee will be calculated as follows:
+ 60 days prior to arrival date: No cancellation charge. We Guarantee 100% Money Back. + Airfare cancellation fees (according to the airline’s cancellation policy) if any
+ 59 – 30 days prior to arrival date: 5% cancellation charge. + Airfare cancellation fees (according to the airline’s cancellation policy) if any

Can I change itinerary?

Alterations to your itinerary before the booking is processed are happily processed free of charge. We want to provide the best tour possible for you. Alterations after you have received your booking confirmation letter will attract a fee of $10 USD per request.
Realistic Asia reserves the right to modify the itinerary of the tour if air schedule or surface transportation changes, and/or events beyond its control make such alteration necessary. In this event, any of the increase or reduction of the tour cost will be calculated and charged accordingly. If the tour is to be changed at the request of the client(s), the client will be required to pay any additional cost in advance.

What travel documentations should I prepare for my trip?

All clients must be in possession of a valid passport and necessary visas or permits at the commencement of travel. All such documentation is the sole responsibility of the client. Your travel advisor may assist you in applying for the necessary travel documentation upon request. Responsible Asia accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation.
 

How I can make complaints and claims if any problems during my trip?

For dissatisfaction with any service Responsible Asia has provided, please notify your local tour guide or your travel advisor immediately to avoid the potential for similar problems happening again during your trip.
In the event of a complaint or claim for compensation, you must inform us by email, regular mail, or facsimile in writing within 15 days from the end of your tour. Relevant receipts and substantiating evidence must be attached to the letter of claim. Responsible Asia will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after the completion of your tour.
