Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Siem Reap

Private transfer from Siem Reap Int. Airport (REP) to Siem Reap

Private transfer · 60 minutes
Welcome to Siem Reap, the gateway to the largest religious monument in the world, Angkor Wat. Your private driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the heart of the city, where you can rest after the flight.
Traditional Aspara show with dinner

Private group · 2 hours · Dinner Included
No visit to Cambodia is complete without at least a quick glimpse of women performing the ancient art of Apsara dance, as depicted on the walls of Angkor’s temples. Wearing glittering silk tunics, sequinned tops (into which they are sewn before each performance to achieve the requisite tight fit) and elaborate golden headdresses, they execute their movements with great deftness and deliberation, knees bent in plié, heels touching the floor first at each step, coy smiles on their faces. Every position has its own particular symbolism – a finger pointing to the sky, for instance, indicates “today”, while standing sideways to the audience with the sole of the foot facing upwards represents flying.

Enjoy the dinner and aspara show at a traditional restaurant in Siem Reap. Back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 Explore the Complex of Angkor

Private group · 8 hours
Today you’ll wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise over Angkor Wat. Then return to the hotel for breakfast before heading back to the Angkor area for the day. Begin at the ancient ruins of the South Gate of Angkor Thom, famous for the huge stone faces lining the path to the entrance.

One within Angkor Thom’s gates, explore several temples, like the Buddhist Bayon Temple, the Royal Palace, and the Kleang-style Hindu temple Phimeanakas. As you walk through the complex, you’ll encounter decorative terraces like the Elephant Terrace, decorated with carvings of the animal, and the Terrace of the Leper King, named for a statue of Darmaraja, a king who had leprosy, found on-site.

Of course, you’ll have plenty of time to explore Angor Wat itself. Built in the 12th century, the temple complex sprawls over about 518 acres (210 ha) of land, making it the largest religious monument in the world.

Afterward, you’ll visit the famous jungle-covered temple of Ta Prohm. Here enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers have woven themselves into the stone foundations of the structure, giving the impression that the powerful forces of nature are reclaiming the temple.

Day 3Visiting the Floating Villages of Tonlé Sap Lake, Transfer to Sihanoukville

Visiting the Floating Villages of Tonlé Sap Lake

Private group · 3 hours
Head about 11 miles (18 km) south of Siem Reap toward Tonlé Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. It’s connected to the Mekong River by the Tonlé Sap River and is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. Your private boat will lead you across the lake to its famous floating villages, permanent communities, including schools, markets, and restaurants, built on the water.
