Hanoi – the capital of Vietnam, is Vietnam’s cultural heart, bearing traces of centuries of changing dynasties. Today you will explore the most remarkable places of this charming city. 

Your tour guide will meet you at the hotel lobby at 8:00 am and take you to Hang Be market. This market is located right in the heart of the Old Quarter and has been serving local customers for hundreds of years. Explore the stalls with various goods and immerse in the vibrant history of the daily life of the locals. 

Then, head to Tran Quoc Pagoda – the oldest temple in Hanoi, dating back to the 6th century, during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De Dynasty (544 – 548). The original name of this Pagoda was An Quoc, but in the 17th century, it was renamed to Tran Quoc (protecting the country) by Emperor Le Huy Tong during the changes in Buddhist shrine traditions. Afterward, we will head to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, where you can deeply explore the life of the Vietnamese ethnic group through their history.

Have a stop at the restaurant to taste the local meals for lunch. 

In the afternoon, we will spend time visiting the Temple of Literature – which is well known as the first university in Vietnam- a rare example of Vietnamese architecture back in the 11th century. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere in the beautiful garden of the Temple of Literature before visiting the Ho Chi Minh Complex (outside), where the great President Ho Chi Minh rests in peace. We will visit the traditional stilt house, where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked, and the respected One-Pillar Pagoda’s unique structure. From here, we will take you back to your hotel.

Day 3Day Trip to Ba Vi Countryside & Cooking Class, Private Transfer From Hanoi to Mai Chau

In the morning, you’ll head west out of Hanoi on a full-day guided eco-tour of the beautiful Ba Vi countryside. Your first stop is Ri Village, where you’ll enjoy welcome drinks and snacks with Mr. Duoc, a Vietnam War veteran and tea plantation owner. Listen to Mr. Duoc’s stories about life during the war and visit his workshop and tea plantation, where you’ll learn every step of tea production.

Next, take a short drive to Moc Village, where Mrs. Chin will teach you how to cook Vietnamese dishes that you’ll enjoy for lunch in her tropical garden. Join Mrs. Chin for a walk around the village to visit families and learn how to make tofu, conical hats, and other regional products. Set off early from your Pu Luong Nature Reserve retreat, for a full-day guided hike of 8 miles (13 km). Descend into the valley and its tumbling rice terraces. After following small paths shrouded in vegetation, the view will open up to a picturesque village at the base of a mountain. This is Kho Muong, a settlement of stilted houses in the central valley. You’ll have chance to engage with locals here and see their rural way of life. There’ll be time to visit the Bat Cave, where the first ancestors of the Muong ethnic group once lived.

After lunch in one of the homes on stilts, trek 4 miles (7 km) through the jungle to explore the abundance of flora and fauna. The winding trail around lush mountains will take you to the village of Uoi, in the middle of the forest. Weave between farmland and villages, ponds and rivers, mountains and open pastures, savoring the ever-changing scenery. Then you will be transferred back to Pu Luong.

Today you will explore the Trang An Landscape Complex in Ninh Binh Province. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014, Trang An is famed for its spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks whose sheer vertical walls rise abruptly 200m (656ft) above the surrounding land and water. Dense rainforest covers the landscape, even clinging to the cliffs and peaks, blending naturally with rice paddy fields and rivers,  creating a  picturesque patchwork of colors. 

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will visit Vietnam’s ancient capital of Hoa Lu, the country’s first centralized feudal state from the end of the 10th century. While the ancient citadel has largely disappeared, the temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties still stand surrounded by rice paddies.

This morning you’ll drive south to the lush Mekong Delta. Known as Vietnam’s rice bowl, this region is full of mangroves, sugar cane plantations, and water-logged paddies. Board a boat to sail along Ben Tre River, one of the tributaries of the mighty Mekong. You’ll visit local businesses like a brick workshop and honey bee farm along the way. Tour one of the coconut candy workshops that Ben Tre is famous for to sample these tasty treats and learn how they’re made.

Next, you’ll stop at a small riverside village for a cup of tea with a local family that makes hand-woven rush mats. Explore the village by bike or xe loi (motor cart) to observe daily life. Do I need to make a deposit? What is the payment process for my booking?

You will be required to pay a deposit when booking with Responsible Asia. The deposit will be 10% of the full payment. All deposits are non-refundable. Final payment is required no later than 30 days prior to departure unless otherwise stated. Some airfares or services must be paid in full at the time of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

We would deeply regret your decision to cancel your trip to Vietnam and Indochina; however, we realize that there are many reasons for this event.
In the event of cancellation, we will refund any payment made to Responsible Asia Asia given that a cancellation fee is applicable.
The cancellation fee will be calculated as follows:
+ 60 days prior to arrival date: No cancellation charge. We Guarantee 100% Money Back. + Airfare cancellation fees (according to the airline’s cancellation policy) if any
+ 59 – 30 days prior to arrival date: 5% cancellation charge. + Airfare cancellation fees (according to the airline’s cancellation policy) if any

Can I change itinerary?

Alterations to your itinerary before the booking is processed are happily processed free of charge. We want to provide the best tour possible for you. Alterations after you have received your booking confirmation letter will attract a fee of $10 USD per request.
Realistic Asia reserves the right to modify the itinerary of the tour if air schedule or surface transportation changes, and/or events beyond its control make such alteration necessary. In this event, any of the increase or reduction of the tour cost will be calculated and charged accordingly. If the tour is to be changed at the request of the client(s), the client will be required to pay any additional cost in advance.

What travel documentations should I prepare for my trip?

All clients must be in possession of a valid passport and necessary visas or permits at the commencement of travel. All such documentation is the sole responsibility of the client. Your travel advisor may assist you in applying for the necessary travel documentation upon request. Responsible Asia accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation.
 

How I can make complaints and claims if any problems during my trip?

For dissatisfaction with any service Responsible Asia has provided, please notify your local tour guide or your travel advisor immediately to avoid the potential for similar problems happening again during your trip.
In the event of a complaint or claim for compensation, you must inform us by email, regular mail, or facsimile in writing within 15 days from the end of your tour. Relevant receipts and substantiating evidence must be attached to the letter of claim. Responsible Asia will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after the completion of your tour.
