Take the night train to Sapa, and experience four seasons of a year during each day. Day 1Welcome to Vietnam - Hanoi Arrival (B)

Your trip begins with your arrival in Vietnam. Your private driver will meet and greet you at the airport. You will be escorted to the hotel by private transportation. Check in to the hotel and get over the jet lag. You can mooch through the streets of the city. Historic charm, architectural marvels, and various products are splashed all over this area. After enjoying the first day yourself and return to the hotel for a relaxing sleep.

Day 2 Hanoi - Halong Bay - overnight on Cruise (B/L/D)

In the morning, check out from the hotel and get picked up by the Cruise. Take the most scenic route to reach Halong Bay, taking you across the Red River Delta with emerald green rice paddies stretching for as far as the eyes can see. On arrival at Halong, you get to enjoy a cruise on the Bay to explore the limestone rocks and the karst grottoes.

After you are done with your exploration of the bay, it is time to enjoy an utterly delicious seafood lunch, after which there will be a trip to the famous Limestone cave in Ha Long Bay, you’ll get to spend some time here, kayaking or swimming so that you can get closer to the floating villages and shops. Towards the evening, you will return to the boat for an early dinner, followed by some time at leisure. You can optionally attend the activities taking part on the boat or relax for the day.

Day 3Halong Bay - Hanoi (B/L)

Rise early for a lesson in Tai Chi or just to enjoy a hearty breakfast. The boat will make its way back to the port stopping at the Limestone Cave, full of stalagmites and stalactites. From here, it’s clear sailing back to the main harbor and the return to Hanoi around 17:00. Free in your leisure time.

Day 4Hanoi - Night Train to Sapa (B)

Have leisure time on your own and late check-out at the hotel. 20:30 – 21:00 Pick-up at the hotel. Transfer to the railway station for a night train to Sapa (schedule 21:50 – 06:30).

Day 5Taphin Red Dao Hill Tribe Village (B/L)

We will pick you up at Lao Cai railway station by private car and then take you to the restaurant for breakfast. Your journey will be mostly driving downhill toward Lao Cai, before taking a left turn into a small paved road leading to Ta Phin village. Here you can experience the unmixed cultural life of Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities, the 2 largest ethnic groups in the area. They live happily together while maintaining their own tradition from generation to generation. You can recognize them by dressing while they are both very famous for handicrafts. You will enjoy walking among local people. The trip also offers you the opportunity to visit the local houses. You will return to Sapa by car.

Day 6Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao CHai - Ta Van (B/L/D)

Enjoy your breakfast then check out of the room. Keep your baggage in the hotel then we will walk from Sapa towards Muong Hoa valley where can admire the magnificent landscape. Here you will discover the wonderful scenery of Hoang Lien mountain ranges and meet Black Hmong tribes. Trek through terraced rice paddies and minority villages along the Muong Hoa River, where we can have a nice swim. Lunch at Lao Chai Village then keeps going to Ta Van Village of Zay people arriving at Ta Van, where we have dinner cooked on a wood fire enjoying the homestay.

Day 7Ta Van - Su Pan - Sapa - Train to Hanoi (B/L)

Then enjoy a delicious breakfast ready to trek through bamboo forests towards Giang Ta Chai waterfall, cross over a rattan suspension bridge and enter into Giang Ta Chai village which is inhabited by the Red Zao minorities. Here we will experience their daily life and then cross over the Muong Hoa River up the mountain to visit the Supan village of the Hmong people. We then take the bus back to Sapa. Take a fresh shower in the hotel before heading to Lao Cai train station for the night train back to Ha Noi. Overnight at the A/C soft sleeper cabin to Hanoi (schedule: 21:00 – 05:00).

Day 8Travel from Hanoi to Hoi An - Flight included (B)

Upon arrival at the train station, our driver will take you to your accommodation for check-in and having breakfast. Afterward, you will be transferred to the airport. Take a flight to Hoi An.

Day 9One day being a local farmer (B/L)

We will provide you with a close-up and intimate exposure to both the local farming and fishing communities. Accompanied by your tour guide, you commence the day leisurely cycling along country roads witnessing local Vietnamese rural life firsthand, discovering all manner of photo opportunities –

coming and visiting a beautiful organic vegetable village, watering and planting vegetables, hoeing a soil with a local farmer, riding a water buffalo in a rice paddy field; seeing ducks swimming along with the rice farm or farmers tending their crops. The photo opportunities are endless. As well you will experience the friendliness of the local people greeting you along the way. Later you will board our boat for a river cruise to meet and engage with local fishermen and enjoy a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing.

You will also experience paddling the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boat while the waterways of coconut palm paradise. This tour provides you with a cultural window into the ways of life of both our farming and fishing communities.

Day 10Cherish Your Leisure Day in Hoi An (B)

Today you will have free time to explore Hoi An at your own pace, seeing what interests you. This ancient town is full of Japanese merchant houses and pagodas, temples, and antique warehouses. Or just lounge about in a laid-back riverside café on the bank of the Thu Bon River.

Day 11Hoi An Transfer to Hue by Private Car (B)

Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for the 3 hours trip from Hoi An to Hue by private transportation.

Upon arrival, you will have free time. You could spend time at the beach or explore this romantic and charming town.

Day 12Visit Vietnam Most Picturesque Old Town - Hue (B/L)

Have breakfast at the hotel. The guide will pick you up around 8:00-8:30 am, and you will head to the boat station, from where you will take a boat trip. The dragon boat will cruise along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, which is considered to be the most beautiful pagoda in Vietnam. Then you will head to the Imperial Citadel, the residence of the Nguyen Dynasty, which was Vietnam’s last royal dynasty. Then you will visit The Royal Antiques Museum, one of the first museums in Vietnam. Many collections of ancient Hue and Royal antiques are displayed here: bronze wares, china, music instruments, royal attires, and personal belongings of the Emperor family of the Nguyen Dynasty. Then continue to Dong Ba market – the best place for cultural gifts and souvenirs.

Have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will visit the Emperor’s Tombs such as Emperor Khai Dinh’s (1885-1925) Tomb, famous for its beauty and unique architectural style, and Emperor Minh Mang’s (1791-1841) Tomb. On the way back to Hue you will have a stopover at the Conical Hat village to see how famous Vietnamese traditional hats Non-La are produced, and the Incense stick-making village to observe how locals make sandalwood and cinnamon incenses.

Arrive back at your hotel around 4:00-4:30 pm.

Day 13Travel from Hue to Ho Chi Minh City - flight included (B)

Have breakfast at the hotel, and have free time until our driver will meet you for a transfer to the airport for your next flight to Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. After hotel check-in has some leisure time in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 14Discover the Mighty Mekong River (B/L/D)

Depart from Ho Chi Minh city (clients’ own arrangement of land transportation from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be: approx. 120km). Arrive at Cai Be, greet at Cai Be harbor, and boat trip transfer to Mekong Lodge. Check-in the bungalow.

Have a daily lunch is served in the nice restaurant with the Vietnamese day menu. On the afternoon arrival date, guests are going to have a bike tour around the area nearby Lodge, do countryside sightseeing, visit Kim Phuoc Pagoda (option 1: approx 1hrs30’) OR option 2: approx 2hrs30’ with an extra visit to the local market.) Cooking demonstration in the evening & dinner in the restaurant.

Day 15Experience the Floating Market (B/L/D)

Have breakfast at your hotel. Until 08:00 am, you will take a boat trip to Cai Be market, visit handicraft villages, then transfer to Mekong Lodge. Have lunch is served in the nice restaurant with the Vietnamese day menu. The second-day program will be included a bike trip to Tan Phong island: visit some local handicrafts: handmade banana leaves hammock, thatched from water coconut leaves, daily house products being made from water hyacinth, free fruit tasting & Vietnamese folk music. Then take a small rowing boat to a small canal (approx 30’). Then carvings on fruits or carrots in the evening & dinner in the restaurant.

Day 16Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Have breakfast in the restaurant. And full morning relax in Mekong Lodge after 2 days of activities.

Day 17Time To Say Goodbye - Ho Chi Minh Departure (B)

Do I need to make a deposit? What is the payment process for my booking?

You will be required to pay a deposit when booking with Responsible Asia. The deposit will be 10% of the full payment. All deposits are non-refundable. Final payment is required no later than 30 days prior to departure unless otherwise stated. Some airfares or services must be paid in full at the time of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

We would deeply regret your decision to cancel your trip to Vietnam and Indochina; however, we realize that there are many reasons for this event.
In the event of cancellation, we will refund any payment made to Responsible Asia Asia given that a cancellation fee is applicable.
The cancellation fee will be calculated as follows:
+ 60 days prior to arrival date: No cancellation charge. We Guarantee 100% Money Back. + Airfare cancellation fees (according to the airline’s cancellation policy) if any
+ 59 – 30 days prior to arrival date: 5% cancellation charge. + Airfare cancellation fees (according to the airline’s cancellation policy) if any

Can I change itinerary?

Alterations to your itinerary before the booking is processed are happily processed free of charge. We want to provide the best tour possible for you. Alterations after you have received your booking confirmation letter will attract a fee of $10 USD per request.
Realistic Asia reserves the right to modify the itinerary of the tour if air schedule or surface transportation changes, and/or events beyond its control make such alteration necessary. In this event, any of the increase or reduction of the tour cost will be calculated and charged accordingly. If the tour is to be changed at the request of the client(s), the client will be required to pay any additional cost in advance.

What travel documentations should I prepare for my trip?

All clients must be in possession of a valid passport and necessary visas or permits at the commencement of travel. All such documentation is the sole responsibility of the client. Your travel advisor may assist you in applying for the necessary travel documentation upon request. Responsible Asia accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation.
 

How I can make complaints and claims if any problems during my trip?

For dissatisfaction with any service Responsible Asia has provided, please notify your local tour guide or your travel advisor immediately to avoid the potential for similar problems happening again during your trip.
In the event of a complaint or claim for compensation, you must inform us by email, regular mail, or facsimile in writing within 15 days from the end of your tour. Relevant receipts and substantiating evidence must be attached to the letter of claim. Responsible Asia will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after the completion of your tour.
