Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, go through the immigration and customs procedures and proceed to the exit, where your guide and driver will be waiting for you in the lobby, holding the signboard with your name on it. If you cannot locate your driver, please go to the Airport information counter and call the emergency number provided in the confirmation voucher for assistance. You will be transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the city at your own pace.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel and check out the hotel. This morning you leave Hanoi behind and head for Hai Phong, where you board a hydrofoil to Cat Ba Island. It is the biggest island in the Gulf of Tonking, where you can stay overnight, explore the untouched nature of the Cat Ba National park, and enjoy the fantastic Halong Bay views.
Once you arrive, you can check into your hotel room, have some rest after the transfer, and have lunch.
Spend the rest of the day exploring Cat Ba Island by yourself.

In the afternoon, you will explore Cat Ba Monkey Island also known as Cat Dua Island, which is a new stop in Northern Vietnam for nature lovers in recent years. The charm of this island lies in its pristine nature and beautiful scenery. Currently, this island is still pretty much intact as it stays untouched by humans and travelers. Then head back to your hotel to have free time for relaxation and enjoying the surrounding area.
Overnight in Cat Ba
Start your day early with breakfast served at your hotel and get ready for the day out in the middle of nature in Cat Ba Biosphere Reserve.
After that, you will be driving to the entrance gate of Cat Ba National Park, then ready for a 9km trek crossing the jungle on a single trail and dirt path. The highlight of this trek is the view from the top hill and the diversity of different kinds of insects on the way. The trekking ends in Viet Hai village (3 hours) – A local isolated village from the rest of the island known as the home of local fishermen.
Lunch will be served at the local family. Following lunch is the option of hiking to Navy peak (268 m – the highest one on the island) in the afternoon or walking to the rice field.
Start your afternoon by joining easy cycling on the jungle road (7km) to the port for 2 hours of boat riding around Lan Ha bay, and stop for beach swimming and kayaking (optional) before heading back to Cat Ba island.
Transfer back to Cat Ba town. Trip ends.

After breakfast, Enjoy a 3.5 hours drive to Ninh Binh province. It is a spectacular landscape of limestone kart peaks permeated with valleys, some of which are submerged, and surrounded by vertical cliffs. After fresh up at Lua Vang Restaurant, hop on your bike for a leisurely 4-km cycle around the winding paved road to enjoy a peaceful moment of the Northern countryside. Along the way, you might see cows or buffalos working on rice fields with farmers or lazy relaxing under shade (depending on the rice season). Then transfer to Van Long – the largest natural reserve of wetlands. It is also home to 32 stunning grottos named after their different shapes. In the dry season, Van Long is the wintering place of migratory birds from the North. Sit on a rowing boat floating through the picturesque scenery with spectacular mountain ranges creates a natural wall surrounded by a vast expanse of water. Back to the hotel for check-in.

Depart Hanoi for a 2.5hr drive south to Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam’s very first national park and the country’s largest nature reserve. Upon arrival, visit the Primate Rescue Centre to learn how endangered species are rescued from poachers or rehabilitated after injuries. There is a chance to see langurs and gibbons up close. Then enjoy a fascinating 5km (3 mi) trek through the diverse flora and fauna and picturesque scenery of the old-growth forest. A picnic lunch is served en route before the drive back to Ninh Binh in the afternoon.

After breakfast at hotel, visit the temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties still stand surrounded by rice paddies then continue to Tam Coc, known as “Halong Bay on Land”, where a skilled rower will take you on a 2hr slow journey on the winding river and canals. Enjoy the views of the beautiful karst formations as you enter three of the many natural caves formed under the hills. After lunch explore & hike to Mua Mountain, which shapes like a bell with a width of around 800 square meters. On the left and right sided of the staircase, it is decorated with stone with the dragon or phoenix carved properly very sharp, and beautifully. The way leading to the cave formed by a long stone staircase zigzags through the karst, there are nearly 500 steps to a simple altar to Quan Am (the Goddess of Mercy). It is assumed that the cave entrance seems similar to the “Great wall of China”, Return to Hanoi late afternoon.

This morning, depart at 08:00 for a five-hour drive to Ba Be Lake National Park. On the way stop at the Museum of Cultures of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups of Thai Nguyen (Note: closed on Mondays and open from 11:30 to 13:30). Built in 1960, the function and task of the museum were originally to study and share the culture and history of ethnic groups based in the northern area during the Indochina War. Nowadays the museum is gathering an interesting selection of exhibits representing the culture of major hill tribes living in Vietnam and has become a museum specialized in national culture. Lunch in a local restaurant. Then, the scenic drive will take you to Bac Can Province the largest natural lake in Vietnam and the heart of Ba Be National Park, a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The road to Ba Is snakes through the mountains to the Tay village of Bo Lu where you will visit a friendly Tay family in their traditional stilt house. Arrive at a homestay in the afternoon. Check-in for a rest for the remainder of the day. Dinner and overnight at the local house.

Board a boat to travel the entire length of the three connected lakes of Ba Be (meaning “Three Bays” in Vietnamese) and up the Nang River to Dong Puong, an enormous 300m (984ft) tunnel carved out by the river through a limestone mountain. The boat proceeds downriver to the small and rustic village of Hua Tang. Enjoy lunch in a local house alongside the river before taking a short walk through the jungle to the scenic Thac Dau Dang Waterfalls, a series of spectacular cascades between sheer rock walls. Return by boat to your local homestay.

Depart Ba Be along a scenic road following the river that snakes from pass to pass through the hills of northern Vietnam, rarely traveled by tourists. On the way to Hanoi, stop to visit the relatively intact remains of a French prison in Cho Chu, built-in 1916 to detain patriots and Vietnamese revolutionaries. Because of its secure construction and relatively remote setting, prisoners were brought here from all over the North. Then drive back to Hanoi. You can mooch through the streets of the city. Historic charm, architectural marvels, and products variety are splashed all over this area.

Alterations to your itinerary before the booking is processed are happily processed free of charge. We want to provide the best tour possible for you. Alterations after you have received your booking confirmation letter will attract a fee of $10 USD per request.
Realistic Asia reserves the right to modify the itinerary of the tour if air schedule or surface transportation changes, and/or events beyond its control make such alteration necessary. In this event, any of the increase or reduction of the tour cost will be calculated and charged accordingly. If the tour is to be changed at the request of the client(s), the client will be required to pay any additional cost in advance.
All clients must be in possession of a valid passport and necessary visas or permits at the commencement of travel. All such documentation is the sole responsibility of the client. Your travel advisor may assist you in applying for the necessary travel documentation upon request. Responsible Asia accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation.
For dissatisfaction with any service Responsible Asia has provided, please notify your local tour guide or your travel advisor immediately to avoid the potential for similar problems happening again during your trip.
In the event of a complaint or claim for compensation, you must inform us by email, regular mail, or facsimile in writing within 15 days from the end of your tour. Relevant receipts and substantiating evidence must be attached to the letter of claim. Responsible Asia will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after the completion of your tour.
