Day 2 Saigon - Cai Be - An Binh island - Vinh Long - Can Tho

Depart from Saigon for the 1.5hr drive to Ben Tre, situated in the Mekong River Delta, exchanging city scenes for lush rice paddies and fruit farms. At the pier, embark on a fascinating motorboat excursion to start with a quick visit of Cai Be floating market. Then, the rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals to enjoy the peaceful time. Back to our boat to go across one of the longest Mekong river. fish farms and scenes of countryside living. Arrive at An Bình Island. Head to handmade canal to Ut Trinh homestay & enjoy a lunch. After lunch, walking around this orchard & enjoy some cups of tea when listening to the traditional music in the ancient house.
Then walk around local village to visit the local workshop to see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice… Enjoy some sweets with a cup of hot tea.  And have an optional biking can be made for a leisure! It will be so amazing to bike on village paths to see the local daily life: orchard, school, church, pagoda, traditional houses. Then visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. The cruise will end at Vinh Long city before driving to Can Tho.

Day 3Can Tho - Cai Rang - Fly to Hanoi

This morning, take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river, then proceed to visit Cai Rang floating market, which are the liveliest in the whole religion. Each of the boats displays their products by means of hanging an example from their mast.

You also could taste Vietnamese vermicelli soup and see how it made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a “Monkey bridge” which is built by only one stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden and stop for lunch before getting to the airport to take your domestic flight to Hanoi.

Welcome on arrival and transfer to the hotel to check in. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Our driver and tour guide will pick you up in the early morning at your hotel in Hanoi and begin your journey through North-eastern Vietnam. The drive to the national park is roughly 230 kilometres long, and on the way we will stop in a local Tay village, where you will get to spend some time learning about their traditions and rice farming. Once you arrive in Ba Be National Park, you will board a boat and head down the Nang River as it winds through wild and rugged landscapes before reaching Puong Grotto, where you can marvel at the impressive stalagmites and stalactites found within. Afterwards, you will continue along the river until you reach Ban Can village where Tay ethnic minority people live on the river bank. Take a walk through the village before getting on a boat which will take you on Ba Be Lake. Here you will get to visit Widow Island (named for the local legend regarding the lake) and those who wish can go for a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters. You will end the day in Coc Toc Village, inhabited by the Tay ethnic minority, where you will spend the night in Mr Linh’s Homestay.

Day 5Ba Be Lake - Hua Ma Cave - Quang Uyen

In the early morning, kayaks are available if you wish to go on the lake on your own. After breakfast with your host family, your journey today will start with a visit to Hua Ma, a dry cave with thousands of amazing stalactites, followed by a drive around Ba Be Lake. Then as you cross through rainforest leaving Ba Be, you will stop for lunch in Cho Ra Town, before continuing on to Quang Uyen, a district inhabited primarily by Nung ethnic minority communities. Due to their isolation and the remote nature of the district, their centuries old traditions and culture remain recognizably distinct from other minorities in Vietnam. Each village is specialised in the making of useful tools for daily life such as blacksmith, paper-making and incense essentially. This remoteness and traditional simplicity is what makes Quang Uyen so appealing, and you will be able to experience this first-hand as you overnight in the village.

Day 6Quang Uyen - Ban Gioc - Cao Bang

The third day is likely to be your highlight of the tour as we take you to one of the most incredible natural wonders in Northern Vietnam: Ban Gioc Waterfall. This breath-taking 300-metre wide waterfall sits right on the border between China and Vietnam, amidst a beautiful mountainous landscape. While you’re here you can spend your time relaxing in the glow of the natural beauty, take some amazing photos, and board a bamboo boat that will take you so close to the falls you’ll feel the water splashes on your face, practically sitting at the very edge of Vietnam, so close to China that you can actually touch it.
After enjoying the waterfall, you will venture deep underground into the magical Nguom Ngao Cave to discover the rock formations which have been carved by erosion over millennia, before heading to a local market where local people from across the region come to buy and sell locally produced products, as well as socialize with people from other communities. You will then hike to Phat Tich Temple which gives great insight into local beliefs and offers unrivalled views of Ban Gioc Waterfall with China in the background. Rounding out the day, you will then travel to Cao Bang where you will spend the night in Thanh Loan Hotel.

Day 7Cao Bang - Hanoi

Before leaving Cao Bang, you can partake in the optional activity of climbing the hill up to the War Memorial, which will present a great panoramic view of town and the surrounding countryside. As we leave Cao Bang, following the windings roads of Highway No.4 through beautiful valleys flanked by steep mountains and spectacular vistas, we will eventually reach Lang Son, the capital of the area and an important crossing and trade route to nearby Non Nuoc. The village and surrounding area is very diverse, being home to Dzao, Man, Tho, and Nung people.The highlight of the town itself is undoubtedly its two markets, the Old Market and the Dong Kinh Market, where you can find anything from traditional crafts to modern electronics. If the time permits; we will stop at the beautiful caves situated amongst the ruins of the Mac Dynasty Citadel, just a few kilometres outside of Lang Son. Among these caves,Tam Thang contains a small lake and offers great views of the surrounding farmland, and Nhi Thanh, formed by a river that flows through it and featuring poems inscribed on the wall dating back to the 18th century. In the afternoon we will take you from Lang Son back to Hanoi along a well maintained and comfortable modern 4-lane highway, arriving at your hotel in Hanoi in the late afternoon.

Day 10Fullday Buon Me Thuat City Tour

8:00 Depart from LAK for Buon Ma Thuot (50km), visit Daklak ethnic museum, the first Ede village with its typical long house and stop for a break at Trung Nguyen coffee house, the most famous Vietnamese coffee brand. Continue the orientation tour of Buon Ma Thuot City, passing the Buon Ma Thuot Penitentiary, built by French colonist since 1900, the six-road junction before heading to Dray Sap waterfall. Walk around to take photos, enjoy a picnic lunch and relax before return to LAK through a scenic, rural roads made up of pepper, coffee and other tropical plantation. Finish the tour around 17:00
 

Day 11Dak Lak to Da Lat

In the morning visit the town’s bustling central market, filled with local specialties such as strawberries and artichokes. The pretty Crémaillère Railway Station designed by French architects and opened in 1938 is visited next. Continue you either by train (tickets on own account) or car to Trai Mat village. After discovering the village and the Linh Phuoc Pagoda with its fascinating three dimensional ceramic mosaics, visit the Zen Buddhist Temple Truc Lam with one way by cable-car and see the Dalat Cathedral. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Discover Dalat’s countryside this afternoon. Visit a silk worm factory and inspect the entire process of silk production, from the sorting of locally grown cocoons, to boiling them and then spinning silk thread. See a coffee plantation and visit a weasel coffee farm. The civets are fed with Arabica coffee berries, which are relatively undigested and intact in their droppings. These are collected, cleaned and processed for sale. Experts say the enzymes inside the weasels’ stomach give the undigested coffee beans a distinctive aroma. Stop at a flower and a strawberry farm and pass by a minority village on your way back to Dalat.

Do I need to make a deposit? What is the payment process for my booking?

You will be required to pay a deposit when booking with Responsible Asia. The deposit will be 10% of the full payment. All deposits are non-refundable. Final payment is required no later than 30 days prior to departure unless otherwise stated. Some airfares or services must be paid in full at the time of booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

We would deeply regret your decision to cancel your trip to Vietnam and Indochina; however, we realize that there are many reasons for this event.
In the event of cancellation, we will refund any payment made to Responsible Asia Asia given that a cancellation fee is applicable.
The cancellation fee will be calculated as follows:
+ 60 days prior to arrival date: No cancellation charge. We Guarantee 100% Money Back. + Airfare cancellation fees (according to the airline’s cancellation policy) if any

Can I change itinerary?

Alterations to your itinerary before the booking is processed are happily processed free of charge. We want to provide the best tour possible for you. Alterations after you have received your booking confirmation letter will attract a fee of $10 USD per request.
Realistic Asia reserves the right to modify the itinerary of the tour if air schedule or surface transportation changes, and/or events beyond its control make such alteration necessary. In this event, any of the increase or reduction of the tour cost will be calculated and charged accordingly. If the tour is to be changed at the request of the client(s), the client will be required to pay any additional cost in advance.

What travel documentations should I prepare for my trip?

All clients must be in possession of a valid passport and necessary visas or permits at the commencement of travel. All such documentation is the sole responsibility of the client. Your travel advisor may assist you in applying for the necessary travel documentation upon request. Responsible Asia accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation.
 

How I can make complaints and claims if any problems during my trip?

For dissatisfaction with any service Responsible Asia has provided, please notify your local tour guide or your travel advisor immediately to avoid the potential for similar problems happening again during your trip.
In the event of a complaint or claim for compensation, you must inform us by email, regular mail, or facsimile in writing within 15 days from the end of your tour. Relevant receipts and substantiating evidence must be attached to the letter of claim. Responsible Asia will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after the completion of your tour.
